Project: Refinish Wood Flooring
After trying to refinish my own floor for a few weeks (and screwing up the stain pretty badly), Scott came in and saved my floors. He gave me a phone quote, and in-person quote and had the job started all withing 48 hours. He wasn't able to get all of the stain out of some of the corners (I ended up switching to a natural finish), but the moulding pretty much covered it. He worked very fast and the floor look great now!! My only compliant is that there are a couple drops of varnish in the middle of the floor that didn't get smoothed out so when you look at it from a certain angle it looks like a little bit of spilled water on the floor.

I can not say enough about what a fantastic experience working with Scott from Artistic Restorations was for my family! I had never anticipated that someone would go above and beyond, to get a job done, in the manner that he did. We just purchased a home, and are doing some remodeling before we move in shortly. We were looking at the cost of resurfacing the maple hardwood floors, and being new to the area, we checked out ServiceMagic for some leads on who we could use. After being matched with Artistic Restorations, I got a call immediately from Scott, and our floors were finished and looked superb by the end of the week! So impressed!

Scott did a beautiful job on the main floor. We had some tricky railings to go around and that did not come out as well as we'd hoped but I don't know that anyone else could have made that work either. He worked very hard and put in long days.

All 3 of Scott's referrals gave a glowing recommendation in terms of product. I visited personally to inspect. I was profoundyl unprepared for the unprofessional manner in which the project was implemented and am extremely disastisfied with the actual floors. There was significant collateral damage to other parts of my house & the floors themselves are not reflective of someone who is highly skilled or attentive to detail. Specifically: inadequate dust containment led to varnishing over a lot of dirt/dust/misc. particles; lots of circular marks and streaks from sander; inadequate varnish coverage, to name a few concerns.
