quick and reliable. My only complaint would be that I wasn't told that there would be a $65 charge for the initial call, but overall pleased.

I needed immediate assistance in repairing an oven/broiler that suddenly stopped working! He was quick to respond and repaired my stove the next morning! I was very pleased.

He called immediately, came by that afternoon found the drain pump was broken so he charged for the service visit and returned the next afternoon with the new pump. Washer is working fine, he was very courteous and respectful.

First, this guy came all the way down into the suburbs from Boston, which I kind of felt bad about, but he did get the fridge fixed in short order. He also diagnosed that the dishwasher needed replacing as the parts were more expensive than a cheap dishwasher and it's for a rental unit. He quoted me a dishwasher but I ended up picking one up myself, as I don't need help to install one. Still, nice guy, job completed, no problem.

Project: Install or Replace a Major Gas Appliance
Owner gave me a phone quote for job and assured me he had (and would bring proof of) a plumber's license to install a gas appliance. Showed up without it and assured me that Service Magic 'certified him'. Foolishly, I let him begin the work - he cut into and damaged my countertop, removed the outside vent and then told me he'd have to leave as he had other business. Before he was scheduled to return, I called him to insist he bring a copy of license as well as a receipt for parts he was buying. His response was that he wouldn't be able to do either so I canceled job. I don't recommend this contractor -rating was required & not earned.
