Mr. Fourrey knew a great deal about wood flooring and explained why our 100 year old home had mixed birch and maple floors and why the floorboards were of a certain length (that length would fit in a railroad car). He performed his work conscienciously and with skill. Clean up was excellent. My only negative comment is that he left his blue float tool and hasn't come to get it yet!

We had existing hardwood in the hallway to 3 bedrooms. Had 4E sand and finish the bedrooms. I wanted to match the stain/finish of the existing finish. That did not happen. The sanding and the finish that was done, looks very good. It just doesnt match. 4E did not come and look the job over before beginning work. I made a bad judgement to allow the work to proceed without clairifying all the details. I do recall, however including all those requirements in my original posting to this website. Perhaps it was never passed on to 4E. Too bad. We have to live with it now. Not what we wanted, or expected.

Friendly service but work could be better. Did a bad job filling in all the cracks.

All cracks should not be filled due to the movement of the wood floors. If you fill an older floor the movement of the wood will push out the fill and it will look worse then if it's not filled. I'm sure that this customer was told of the options and made the decision.

Dull finish on floors-did not offer any information and without knowing questions to ask, we were stuck with what we received.

I'm unsure what job this was with out an address. We received no feedback directly. I'm sure we put down the product that was discussed and would have gladly put down a another coat with a higher gloss if that is what the owner was looking for.
