Comment: I am a Florida resident interested in purchasing a home at 66 Rosewood Avenue, Montford, Asheville, NC 28801. I am very interested in the house but have concerns about cracks in the foundation walls, and a slightly damp basement. The basement has exposed block that has been painted, with obvious cracks visible where two sides ( about 25' long and 35' long) of the foundation wall have earth on the other side. Gutters and downspouts have been added all around the house to direct rainwater away from the walls. Seller, who has only owned it 4 months, says there was repair work done years ago, and what we are seeing is basically cosmetic and not currently creating a moisture problem, but he also says, as always, it's buyers risk. I have pictures of the conditons which I can send to give you an idea of the situation.
