Comment: I purchased this home 1 year ago as a short sale and our home inspector did not see an issue with this. The home is a cape with a full bath upstairs, 1/2 bath and laundry on the first floor next to the kitchen, and another full bath in the basement. In my kitchen cabinet there is a pipe drain from the upstairs bathroom - no water leaks and is crudely covered up. The previous owner stated that he installed it and it was a vent pipe for the toilet upstairs to allow for better drainage - that this was not a water sewer pipe. This makes sense being that the toilet is directly above. However, we have 2 full baths and 1 half bath in our home and if someone has taken showers back to back, we get a sewer smell in the corner of the kitchen with the "vent pipe". We need to get this looked at so we can put a plan together as to how to fix it. There is also pressure issue with our full bath in the basement (no suction from the toilet when flushed and when the sink + toilet is used
