| Comment: Trees in the immediate area were recently diagnosed and treated for an infestation of bird mites. Shortly thereafter, we began to see tiny black specs on table surfaces in the house and on the skin with sharp prickly bites. Within a short 2-wk time frame, the numbers have grown dramatically, making sleep impossible since they are most active at night. Insecticides have been ineffective and our regular pest control company is unfamiliar with this pest.
