| Comment: The house is set into a sloped hillside, being two-story on one side and one story on the opposite, with a deck with bevel-sided & open-rail deck walls that also need repainting. The deck wraps a corner of the house, reducing the two-story working side to (2) "one-stories", for staging, across half of that face and virtually all of the sloping side around the corner. The roof rafter tails at the soffit were repainted last fall and do not need to be painted this year. I have a complete power wash of the house & deck scheduled for June 11th, so painting could begin after that. The paint is chalking a bit, but should be otherwise sound, and there is no new wood. The same colors will be used as are presently covering all surfaces. I prefer 100% acrylic flat latex across all siding & trim, semi-gloss on the front & (2) side doors and on the tubular deck railings, and a deck paint or semi- to solid-body stain (your recommendation) on the cedar decking. |
