| Comment: I would like to have the exterior of my house re-stained. This includes a two-story deck. The exterior siding is cedar, while the deck is composed of primarily douglas fir. The decking is Trex and does not require staining. The surfaces are generally in good condition, although there are several areas that will require special preparation. One side of the deck railings has some black staining, and the wood on several of the window sills has greyed. These surfaces will require the application of a wood brightener/cleaner with a scrub brush, followed by sanding, before coating. There is a small area of water staining below the front kitchen window, which will require a similar treatment. The surfaces are to be stained with Messmer's UV Plus. |
