| Comment: We have signed a conract on a home that is a foreclosure. The basement had been repainted and carpet had been ripped out. We were told by previous owner that the basement had and inch to inch and half of water in the basement when the big flood happened in Nashville. This particular area received a lot of rain too. No one was living in the home at that time, so no one was aware of the problem. The drains became blocked and clogged we were told, which resulted in water entering the basement. We thought the bank had taken the necessary steps to fix the problem. Upon entering the basement the other day, it was obvious there was a problem. There was a smell as soon as we entered the basement that wasn't there a week ago. We also noticed an area on the bottom of the wall where mold or mildew was growing as well as on some base boards. We would like some professional advice on the severity of the problem. |
