| Comment: We bought a house with asbestos siding. My insurance company (AAA) won't write coverage for the house; I also called GEICO, and they won't write coverage. I did find an unknown company who will write a policy for a set amount, but no replacement coverage. I have talked to a contractor I have used in the past and he said he has covered asbestos sidingi in many homes with no problem and has never run into an insurance problem. When I googled asbestos siding, the website said as long as it is not disturbed, it poses no health pronlem. My problem? What do I need to do to ensure I can obtain appropriate insurance coverage and protect myself from future claims should we sell the house or have some disaster such as tornado or fire damage? |
