City informally says if it is a ground floor unit, a spiral staircase as the second exit is ok. However, we are on a slope so that the front entrance of unit is on ground floor, street level, but the back of the unit maybe won't be regarded as "ground floor" because we are on a slope. The patio doors from unit open on to a deck that is 11 feet above the garden. |
