| Comment: I recently purchased and moved into a ca. 1925 brick two-story home (one story plus converted attic) in Hampton Heights, Spartanburg. There are many windows, original or at least old, an uninsulated crawl space/basement, plaster walls with a mix of old and modern wiring. Major constraint is the historic district which believes that drafty windows lend authenticity. <br />I would like help evaluating whether replacing windows, or adding exterior or interior storms is an economically sound move (I'm interested in reducing my carbon footprint, but only if it's not economically unreasonable). I'm also interested in whether insulating the crawl space or blowing insulation into the walls is worthwhile |
