| Comment: My son needs a recommendation and estimate for a house in Loris SC, which he is offering to buy. This is a foreclosed property, owned by a financial institution (seller). We assume that this house had an air- source heat pump, the outside unit of which has been removed by someone unknown. Apparently, there is some kind of inside unit in the attic, which is either (1) an AC evaporator and air circulation unit, or (2)an indoor unit that provides both heat and cooling, as required, as part of an air-source heat pump system. My son needs an on-site inspection and recommendation before making an offer to buy. If this is not possible, he will still need those at a later stage in the purchase process, as soon as possible. He plans to make an offer on this house next week, after also getting a report from a professional or licensed general home inspector.
