Comment: I'm in the process of closing on 1.5 acres of land on Lake Hartwell. I'm looking at having a 2,000 square foot brick ranch home moved onto the property (with Cox Home Movers). I'm trying to get estimates for how much it would cost to lay a concrete slab foundation vs. a walk-out basement. The land has a gradual slope from the road to the lake. Right now there are some pine trees on the land, so I'm wondering if I hire someone separately to remove the trees, then someone else to remove the land. I currently own a home, but I've never looked into building (or moving) a home before, so I'm looking for advice and trying to find a reliable and reasonable contractor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know the advantages to concrete block basements, vs. concrete poured basements, or if basements are just too expensive, etc. Thanks for your help.
