| Comment: When the home I may purchase was inspected the following was brought to my attention: "Foundation movement noted along two walls. The left side wall has horizontal cracking and inward bulge of about 3", while the rear wall has horizontal cracking and an inward bulge of about 2". Such cracking and bulging indicates the foundation has moved due to external water pressures (normally caused by poor grading and lack of good gutter function). It appears the movement may be active because previous patches of cracks have re-cracked. Typically, such cracking and this degree of movement warrants foundation reinforcement." I would like to know how much it would cost to repair if I was to purchase this property. |
