| Comment: Surface water, primarily from overflowing gutter, is gaining access through crack in poured foundation wall. Solution: 1) remove plastic gutter guard, the major cause of overflow; 2) install downspout extension; 3) install raised steel edging along inner edge of front walk to reduce water flow from walk toward house. 1 - 3 are done, problem greatly reduced. To do next: 4) install raised steel edging along outer edge of front walk to reduce water flow from yard; 5) install additional downspout and extension; 6) install corrugated drain to capture downspout flow; 7) install surface channel drains between walk and house, route into drain; 8) waterproof foundation crack on inside. To do long-term: 9) excavate and waterproof outside of foundation. |
