Comment: I am looking into having an engineered wood floor installed in my living room and kitchen, about 385 total square feet. I purchased the flooring about a week ago and have it sitting in my house now. Its 3/8 engineered brazilian koa...also known as tigerwood. One issue, that i am not sure on how to address, is make sure the floor is level. I have removed the old carpet and lenoleum. But there a few spots in the kitchen area where some of the subflooring sheets are kind of "tore" up at the ends. I am not sure if these areas could be filled in or if they would need to be replaced. Also i have not yet purchase my transition pieces for the outside entrance doors yet b/c i wasnt sure what type of transition pieces to use.
