| Comment: We are a gated community of ten houses. I am the President of the HOA. Our present gate is about 15 years old, and the electronic controls were recently burned out by a storm. The company who made the control system for our gate has discontinued the model, and cannot supply parts. So we need a new one. The present gate opened in response to transmitters in cars, and to codes entered on a keypad. The pad allowed telephone communication to each house, and when the person was recognized, the homeowner could send a signal to open the gate. The present gate is wooden and very heavy. We would like to know how much a system which made it functional again would cost, but we would also consider a counterbalanced bar which would presumably be lighter and cheaper to operate. |
