Comment: The motor of the exhaust fan in our bathroom has stopped working and needs replacement. It also doesn't work when I remove it and plug into another power source, so I think it's the motor (at least 30 years old) and not the electric system. It fits within a cylindrical tube (6&3/4" inside diameter) going straight through the outside wall. Note: I've been unable to remove the motor from a metal support bracket that centers it in the tube.

Comment: I started on this project myself, removing the old lighting in our kitchen. It turned out that the junction box from the old lighting wasn't anchored to anything. I installed a ceiling fan brace between the ceiling joists, but found that the positioning of the brace left the ceiling fan box too deep in the ceiling (2.5" deeper than desired). Also, the positioning of one of the joists is such that we'll likely have to expand the hole in the drywall by an inch or so. After a day of trying, I couldn't figure out how to safely position things so that the box is where it needs to be for a proper installation, so I've decided to reach out to a professional. Please help!

Comment: I live in a second-story Victorian-style condo in Cambridge (with a unit above and below me). I purchased 4 "Emerson Designer" fans (CF755ORB) with light kits and wall-plate remote (SW605/RC188) switches/receivers (2-wire, doesn't require a third wire to be run) and need to get them installed in my living room and 3 bedrooms. All 4 rooms already have overhead light fixtures but will likely need to be reinforced with ceiling fan rated electrical boxes. 3 of the rooms already have wall switches connected to the overhead light fixtures but 1 of the bedroom needs wires ran to the wall (as it only has a pull chain).
