| Comment: We are adding two large outdoor electrical loads. A hot tub (220V 50A) and a heat pump for the pool (220V 30A). We have the standard 200A service to the house. I have two project ideas and I would like to know the parts and labor costs of both so that I can determine what is more cost effective. The first project option is to request a 100A or 200A service upgrade from AEP and install a new power meter and weatherproof load center to supply the new outdoor electrical loads without running any wires into the house. The second option is to add new breakers to the existing load center and run wire through the basement wall to the new outdoor loads. What do you recommend? |
