| Comment: I recently had a ceiling in a large room (16' x 32')completely re sheeted and plastered. The job was done very poorly and many details of proper construction techniques/codes were completely overlooked. The contractor used 5/8 drywall, 1" fine threaded screws, no adhesive, and did a very sloppy job of matching the simple sand finish of the existing early 1950's plaster in repairing the walls. He did not replace the original metal reinforcing corners at the ceiling edges per my insistence due to the constant vibrations from high traffic on my street. All the ceiling/wall lines are very wavy and uneven and his cheap plastic tape corners are cracking after only 18 months. I have since re-screwed the entire ceiling using jacks and 2" coarse threaded screws as the drywall/plaster was beginning to come lose from the joists.
