| Comment: Moving into house Oct. 2, 2011. The current deck is a wrap-around deck and narrow in some places. The following is the home inspector's findings: The main section of the deck is not lag bolted to the house framing. The floor joists of this section of the deck are pulling away from the framing band at the house, possibly due to some settling of the 4" x 4" support posts. This section of the deck flooring/framing is pitched away from the house. The right corner of the floor framing band, NW corner, is poorly secured to the 4" x 4" wood support post and the nails have pulled away from the support post. Note: Want to fix and expand a portion of the deck out and maybe put bench seating in and screen a portion of the old deck. Can meet at the house for free estimate just need to let the current homeowner's know when. Thanks! |
