But alas, I am currently living in an intentional Christian community in the Baxter neighborhood of Grand Rapids, MI and we are trying to put together a community garden in association with Baxter Community Center in a vacant lot donated to our group by the ICCF(Inner City Christian Federation). They have also offered to donate the abandoned house next to it to us. We are trying to remodel it and make it a community house for people in the neighborhood to come and hang out and fellowship and have a safe place to feel excepted and loved and see Jesus. For the garden we are going to be offering plots for families in our area to grow food, and also be doing gardening education for the children. But an aspect of the garden that is a little unique is that we hope to turn it into a "Prayer Garden" with bamboo and wild flowers and Japanese maple trees and giant decorative rocks etc...
