| Comment: Although we are in planning and budgeting stage, we want to get this project completed soon, i.e. by June. We have a five level split house with an unfinished flat backyard. The back door sits 18" off of the ground, and we want to install a concrete patio at the foot of the existing stairs. Our first choice, depending on pricing, is stamped concrete for a finished look, but we are willing to have a simple brushed or smoothed surface. The whole area is less than 400 sq ft. Grass would need to be removed and gravel put down, but there is no need for excavation. Existing surface is soft topsoil with grass. We are looking for suggestions on what to to do with the border of the patio if it sits up more than a two inches. There is easy access to the backyard from the street for a mixer and mason dump; therefore, a pump truck is probably not necessary.
