| Comment: This is an older building, and the current ceiling tiles are a terrible patchwork of new and very old, different styles/materials, some broken & others partly painted and/or uncleanable. The support structure is also in many places bent, sagging or just missing pieces. I'm opening a small grocery/coffee shop in this space, and the ceiling is aesthetically awful but also probably won't go over well with certain levels of inspection when I'm ready, as none of these tiles meet the washable-tile requirement for the Health Department. The framework is set up with 2x4 tiles right now. I have 3 ceiling fans as well as a good bit of tracklighting that will need to stay. There are older insulation pads above the tiles, as well as other interesting stuff that I've seen while trying to make the ceiling presentable! In many ways I'd like to just remove the entire tile/frame structure and leave it that way, but then there'd be very little in the way of insulation, energy conservation is an issu |
