| Comment: It is not to build a completely new closet where ther is none but the other website categories did not seem appropriate either. I have existing closets, in a small 1949 house, without shelves or hanging rods. I have made the measurements and sketched views of what I want. It would be done in the old style with painted wood shelving, 1x6 & 1x4 supports, and 1 1/2" oak rods. One closet will be divided in half with two stacked hanging areas and a shelf above. The other half will have another hanging area with a shelf above and two below. There is are existing cubby shelving on the left side wall that will need somewhat modified or rebuilt. The back would remain as plaster. Some minor plaster work would probably be required and, of course painting. I have two other smaller closets that need hanging rods; rear, shallow, half-shelving on one side below the rod; and with two full-length deeper shelves above the rods. |
