| Comment: I am considering putting stairs from the lower portion (garage) up one level. I want the stairs enclosed but not necessarily within the existing structure. This could be on the rear as long as they don't inhibit the view through the two picture windows (lower and upper) or on the eastern side. My main considerations are: 1) enclosed as in being an interior stairway without necessarily being inside the existing structure; 2) being such that one of those elevator-type mechanisms can be attached to move my mother-in-law from lower to upper floor; and 3) encumber the least amount of wall space, etc. on the upper floor; and 4) the ground entrance not to prohibit a couple of bedrooms and bath on the ground floor (in the garage.) These will be built at some time in the future--perhaps another project to consider. |
