Comment: We added several rooms to the house in 1988. We installed a temporary stairway (no railing) and have never <br />finished it because it met our needs. (Only used every few months). I let a carpenter stay in the house with our adult son, who was caring for the house, when we were away one winter. That carpenter had other jobs and just never got around to doing what he promised. Now as I try to upgrade the house I want to finish the stairs. We also had a deck installed over an old exterior basement stairs. The man who did the job didn't close off the old concrete stairway correctly, so when it rains or snow on the deck melts water <br />seeps into the basement. My wife says she smells mold. <br /> <br />We also have corner of a lower roof that has been damaged, The corner needs to be replaced. a squirrel got in last winter and eventually died when it couldn't find its way out. Meanwhile it chewed the wood around the base of several windows trying to get out. &
