| Comment: We have a patio that consists of brick pavers over a concrete slab. I assume that previous owners to the house covered the original concrete patio with brick pavers. The pavers are 4" by 8" by 1.5" thick. The size of the patio is 17' by 22.5', but there is a 9' by 4.5' rectangular notch missing from one corner, where there are no pavers or concrete slab. There is a row of pavers around the perimeter that are set in mortar to form a border, and I believe the rest of the pavers are just set tightly in place, but I'm not entirely sure whether or not the pavers are secured to the slab in any way. Along most of the edge of the patio adjacent to our house, it appears that the patio has settled slightly, so that after a heavy rain there is about a half inch of standing water along the edge of the patio along the side of the house; this only extends out a couple feet from the house, and beyond that the water flows off the patio as it should.
