| Comment: Slightly non-standard dishwasher install. From the floor tile up to the bottom edge of the cabinet faceboard is 33 5/8" clearance. The faceboard extends down about 2/8" below the bottom of the shelf, so if we can trim that back, then we can likely install a standard dishwasher (requires 33 7/8 - 34 inches (without or with wheels), especially because the particle board floor without the tile in the space for the dishwasher is ~1/4" lower than the tile surface in the exposed part of the kitchen. There is also at least one small screw extending into the space from the bottom of the countertop that would need to be clipped. <br />Sears came out to install the dishwasher and declared this a tight fit, non-standard install, and they took the unit back, recommending an ADA (reduced height) model. We'd like to try to modify the space to accept a standard dishwasher. If, upon inspection, you think the job is relatively simple and not very expensive, we're ready to go |
