| Comment: I want to replace the cabinets with durable, hickory cabinets with a design that will be more functional and utilize the limited "footprint" more sensibly. I have a light problem in the kitchen and dining room which I would like to tackle with solar tubes or sky lights in addition to high-efficiency, warm lighting. I want to install a cantilevered bay window above the sink with an area for plants and with recessed lighting, as well as a bench seat bay window off the dining room. I want wood flooring in the diningroom and living room (can be synthetic, but must be durable as we raise bulldogs) and tile in the entry and kitchen, preferably light-colored slate. The main issue is functionality in tight space, so I would like to go up to the ceiling with the cabinets and use a step ladder to access that high storage space when necessary. I would like a plate-rail in the dining room up high, and a corner unit with lighting also built out of hickory. |
