| Comment: I am interested in adding a new master suite, with bath and closet, along with an office and large pantry onto an existing house. The addition would be approximately 625sq ft onto a approx 1500sq ft existing. I understand there a numerous factors which determine pricing. I am interested in learning what it would cost to have actual plans drawn from my sketches, then a rough estimate of price per sq ft maybe. I am willing and able to take on some of the project myself once the structure is weather-tight, such as insulation, etc if it makes sense financially. I have already met with another remodeler and been concerned with the fact that their initial estimate went from $65 per foot over the phone to $90 in person. It's a modest home and it just doesn't make sense to invest another $50k in it if it won't hold the value. |
