| Comment: Two story home consists of a mobile home steel frame sitting on top of 2x6 walls that rest on a block wall. Steel framing is not wide enough to fully seat on the 2x6 top plate of the 2x6 wall, and does not appear to be attached. A few more small earthquakes, and it looks as if the 2nd floor will fall into the basement. I need a very experienced carpenter capable of doing a seismic retrofit, which may involve nothing more than jacking up the steel beams, welding on extensions to the beam, and bolting those beam extensions to the sill plate in about 30 or so locations. |
