"very unprofessional, only on time the first day, the contractor constantly complained about his "Mexican workers" to the wife but never said anything about them about being late or their substandard work; My wife was more a contractor,forman and quality control inspector than the contractor. The contractor expected us to except marginal work, "claiming the holes in the wall would be covered by the cabinets" The sheetrock/paint guy was so bad i finally told the contractor i did not want him back. I would never recommend this contractor!!"

"There where a multiple workmanship issues. When trying to address the issues I felt that I was getting brushed off. I would suggest that he would change the contractor especially with the painter because they where painting in the cold of winter. I was told to allow him to finish and we will address them later. I felt that there were empty promises that there will be a foreman there with the crew at all times and he would not be there or he will be late. I felt I did my part with my payments and now I feel that they did not hold up to their end of the deal. I would not recommend them at all. I felt that this was a true nightmare and not the dream room I wanted."

"They have been an excellent organation to work with. They tell you up front what is to be done and how long it should take.Each of their workers come in and start working on the projects. When they are done they will let you know so you can examen the work before they leave. I would recomend Gila Mesa Builders to anybody that wants something built or renovated."

"They have been very professional, adjusting to any of the changes that I have made, and the quality of the various sub-contractors they have brought on has been very good. After I hired them for a new roof with and additional deck put on the roof, I hired them to completely gut and remodel by kitchen. It is nearly finished and it will be the dream kitchen that I had planned. "

"Our project involved expanding the kitchen by taking out two walls, tiling the floors and the bathrooms, and replacing the kitchen cabinets. The floor work was excellent, and completed faster than we expected. The structural work, likewise, was done quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, we had several problems with the kitchen cabinets, which were the most expensive part of the project. Mr. Shinn is easy to work with, but does not seem to know much about making kitchens usable. In particular, the cabinets were built in small units, which reduced the functional storage space by anything from 25% to 50%. I asked specifically about bottom-mounted drawer guides, and he said that he had had numerous problems with them. I see such drawer guides at Lowes and Home Depot, however. I believe that he and his cabinet maker are behind the times on hardware. The doors had to be re-made, since they were not made in the design we had selected. I had specified that the lower shelves be made as pull-outs, so that I could access things stored in the back. That was not done initially, so several lower cabinets had to be re-made. One of the drawer facings pulled off the drawer within 6 weeks of completion. The electricians refused to install a new telephone jack, saying that the work had to be done by the telephone company. I called the telephone company, and they said that the work could be done by any licensed electrician. We are going to have to pay extra to have this work done. Mr. Shinn knows about construction, and his project supervisor is excellent. The work seemed well organized, and was completed even faster than we had anticipated. I believe, however, that he needs to learn more about design if he is to be successful in the home remodeling arena. He also needs to work with his cabinet maker on upgrading the quality. They look beautiful, but are less than functional. "

"I was very pleased with the kitchen remodel. I enjoyed working with this company very much. One suggestion: since I am new to remodeling, I should have been given more specific guidance as to what kind of appliances to buy. For example, I bought a fridge with an icemaker and an electric stove when i should have bought an electric stove and a fridge without an icemaker as there was no water line to the fridge. I do wish I would have been told more specifically. It would have avoided a lot of hassle. Otherwise, the service and the finished product are a dream. I am happy and more importantly, my mother is happy."

"Out project was to remove a very large tree stump and expand our driveway. Although I felt that the estimate was a little high, I am more than pleased with the workmanship and service provided by Jerry Shinn Construction Co. The people were on time for both the estimate and the job, they completed their work in a reasonable amount of time and left the area cleaner than I expected. The people doing the work were courteous as was their supervisor, who was also helpful with questions I had regarding possible future projects. I would definitely hire this contractor again if I have a need for this type of servide and I would also recommend them to others. "

"My project grew from a bathroom remodel and addition to getting fancier with the bathroom and doing extra work on the patio. I LOVE the bathroom. Since I had never done any remodeling before, Jerry's suggestions were very helpful. The utility room is great, too. The subcontractor for the cabinets was the best! "
