Cold Air Coming From Vents

Heating & Cooling Contractors in Your Area
Q: In our ranch style home, cold air comes up through the vents, from a basement crawlspace. No matter how high we turn the heat up, we can feel the cold air. My house is never really warm and I have high heating bills.
A: The area underneath the floor should be insulated, as should the ductwork, even up to the floor. That area of the house is cold, all of the cold air must blow out of the ducts before the heated air gets inside of the house. Also, check to make sure that all of the ductwork is still connected properly, because rodents and other pests will tear up ductwork like crazy to build their nests.
